Zohar, section 1, on Genesis—Mantua printing. Copy of the kabbalist Rabbi Aharon Khiyun. Full of glosses, notes, and additions by hand. After his death, Yitzhak Avzamil of Egypt copied them into a book, and called it Machaneh Aharon (printed in Livorno, 1795, around 150 years after the death of the author). The first page opens (much as it was printed, with slight changes) with an introduction. The Machaneh Aharon was active in the 17th century in Jerusalem, was a dayan in the Rishyon LeZiyyon’s beit din and head of Jerusalem rabbis. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity by Rav Shimon Schwartz. Original binding, partially disconnected. Slightly missing in the upper margins of pages 1-14, with minimal damage to text. Moth marks. Stains from time. 4 last pages are disconnected. 251, 14 pages. 21cm. Generally ok to good condition.

Droshim on the Torah according to the order of parshiyot, by Rabbi Berachya Barech bar Yitzhak Isaac (Shapira) of Krakow. Two sections bound together. Printed by Shlomo Propus, Amsterdam. With rabbinical signatures on the pages before and after the cover, among them the signature of Avraham Abuhatzira (including his geneology until Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzira. Tape reinforcement on the first pages. Signs of moths. Not bound. | [2], 83, 105 pages, 32cm. Generally ok to good condition.

Halachot of Lashon Hara and gossip. By the ever holy Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaKohen of Radin, who removed his name from the book and whose name goes unmentioned in the endorsements, except in the margins of the cover in Russian: Y. M. Kagan. Without the ‘Prenumeranten’ page, which only existed on some copies. With a front dust jacket that was printed on yellow paper, and which doesn’t appear on the bibliographic register. On the last page are four lines of cursive handwriting, possibly by the Chafetz Hayyim himself. Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaKohen (1838-1933), known as the Chafetz Hayyim because of the book before us now, was one of the greatest poskim of the last generations, and is known by the entire Jewish People. Studied in Vilna, taught in Vasiliški, and established his yeshiva in Radin. Among the founders of Agudat Yisrael, participated in its Great Congress in Vienna (1933), and was made the world president of the Council of Torah Sages. | Inscriptions and erasures on the dust jacket. Two sections in one volume, from Rabbi Zvi Elimelech of Dinov. Published by the book publisher of Meir Yehuda Katina in Khust with Munkatch 1905. With a long (5 line) dedication on the cover page above and to the side, by the gaon Rabbi Moshe Greenwald, rabbi of Khust and the Arugat HaBosem, to his student and disciple Rav Avraham Rosenberg in honor of his marriage. A long dedication, he blesses him on his marriage. He lived 1853-1910, was a rabbi of Khust and a sage of Hungary, a student of the Katav Sofer in Pressburg together with his friend Rabbi Yosef Haim Zonenfeld. A chassid, he would travel to the Admorim of Belz, Sinoa, and Sighet. His yeshiva was one of the largest in Hungary. Students from all over the country and outside it, even the United States, came to him. Father of the famous Chassidic Papa line, with hundreds of families in New York and Jerusalem (his son is Rabbi Yaakov Yehezka Greenwald, Av Beit Din of Papa, and his grandson is Admor Rabbi Yosef Greenwald of Papa, last rabbi of Papa in Hungary, after the Shoah it was moved to the USA, where it still is). The intentions of mitzvot of the Torah and their details according to the Karaites, by Rav Aharon ben Rav Eliyahu Nikomodio, the Etz HaHayyim and Keter Torah. First published from a manuscript by Yehuda Savaskin. The cover bears the signature of the Rav Dr. Azriel Hildsheimer (1820-1899), rabbi of Eisenstadt and then of Berlin, founder of the Berlin Rabbinical Beit Midrash. Stains, binding partially disconnected. [3], 2-197 pages. 26cm. Generally good condition.

Rabbi Shmuel Hominer (1913-1977) was a member of the Old Yishuv, and a mussar autho. Studied at the Etz Haim yeshiva, the head of the yeshiva (Rav Isser Zalman Meltzer) writes about him: A sharp and knowledgeable rav, notable for his fear of God and middot. Different sizes and conditions, generally good.

Printed on quality blue paper by David bar Zvi. At the top of the cover is an inscription in Mizrahi handwriting of Haim Palagi. Includes glosses on page 2b and 2d, as well as the handwritten signature of his eldest son and successor, Rabbi Avraham Palagi (1810-1899), who was Ra’avad of Izmir and author of a number of books. Rav Haim Palagi (1788-1869) was a posek and kabbalist, a sage of the achronim. Wrote around 80 books. Moth marks, new binding. [6], 27, 25, 11 (supposed to be 12) pages. 38cm. Generally good condition.

By Moshe Alshich. On the cover is the handwritten signature of the Admor Rabbi Aharon Moshe of Geza Zvi (1775-1845), a Chassidic sage and student of the Chozeh of Lublin. Rabbi of the Saraf of Tasserlisk and Rabbi Moshe Zvi of Savran. Was an expert on mysticism.In 1839 he founded the Chassidic Yishuv in Jerusalem and was the head of the Chassidic kollel. Died in Jerusalem and buried next to that of Zecharya the Prophet. 52 (supposed to be 50) pages. 21cm. Generally very good condition.

Prayers, segulot, and tikkunim according to the kabbalah, with chiddushim on masechet megillah, by Rabbi Haim Lifshitz. He mentions the name of Natan He’azti, prophet of the false messiah Shabtai Zvi. With signature of ownership of Rav Shmuel Bachrach, grandson of the Havat Yair. Also listing that the book belonged to the Admor Rabbi Shmuel of Darag, a student of the Chozeh of Lublin. Gloss probably written in his handwriting. Rav Haim Lifshitz was one of the greatest of his generation, he succeeded his father-in-law, rabbi Kalman Haberkastan in the rabbinate of Ostraha, rabbi and head of the Lublin yeshiva, founded the Great Synagogue there (According to the tradition). Authored many books and zemirot for Shabbat. Also wrote Tochachat Hayyim, Mekor Haim, and more. Half-leather, original binding, partially disconnected. On the Shulchan Aruch Orech Hayim and Yoreh Deah. Each has a separate cover. By Rabbi Yehuda Ayash, a sage and posek in Algeria. On the cover are two dedications, one to David Baruch Refael Aryeh, and one to Shlomo Algranati. Moth marks. Tears with minimal missing text. No binding. 64; 40 pages. 34cm. More than 50 ancient handwritten pages, including: around 25 ancient pages preserved in readable condition, and dozens of remains from pages. Among them: pages from Tanach, with vowels, ta’amim, and translation; pages in Sefardi handwriting, in Arabic, amulets, and many more. The content of most pages was not checked. | The gluing of older pages to book binding was widespread as a means of strengthening the binding. A special art is required to remove them and return them to their original condition. Over the years, many discoveries have been made from ancient pages that were removed from book binding. Location, sizes, and conditions vary.

Interesting collection that includes copies from books, kabbalistic texts, amulets, and more. Most are on kabbalah and segulot. Different sizes and conditions, generally ok to good condition.

Aggadeta d’Pascha (Pesach Haggadah), sofer handwriting. Ink on thick paper. Nice handwriting, straight and annotated (partially). Written in Rashi script, the opening words are in larger block lettering. With guidelines according to Yemenite custom and a few notes in the index. At the top is a note. | Page cutting not straight. Characteristic winestains. New binding. [12] page. 13x18cm. Generally good condition.

One volume on the five books of Torah. Nice, organized handwriting, Rashi script, on dark, thick, quality paper. Bound with new and handsome leather binding. Beginnings of the parshiyot are in block letters. Top of every chumash has the name. Rare to find the commentary alone without the words of the Bible itself. The last page has a receipt of payment (colophon). Cover and first page are missing. 22x26cm. Moth damage. Generally ok to good condition.

Ink on thick, dark, quality paper, with wide margins. Nice manuscript, straight and divided into chapters and with headings. The books were authored by two of the generation’s greatest kabbalists: Shalom HaKarchi and RShlomo bar David HaKohen, following the awakening of kabbalah that took place at the beginning of the 16th century. No known handwriting of his exists so no comparison could be made. The manuscript underwent professional restoration. No cover page. Missing a bit of text on some pages. New, handsome leather binding. 23x16cm. Generally good condition.

Opens with an instruction to write the stamp on parchment if one wants to use demons. Around 120 segulot for a wide range of things. No binding. 14 pages. 17x12cm. Generally good condition.

Judeo-Persian (Hebrew letters). Clear, artistic handwriting, on quality paper, some with inscriptions in the margins. No binding nor cover page. Stains, tears without missing text. Some of the pages are disconnected. Pages 1-4, and last page(s) are missing. 21x27cm. Generally ok condition.

1. Ink on paper. Deals with Jewish prophets, in Judeo-Persian. Original leather binding. [39] pages. 17x12 cm. 2. Pizmonim and prayers, in Judeo-Persian, with vowels. No binding, 18x11cm, [10] pages. 3. Manuscript in the shape of a megillah that is written throughout. On the accidental murder of someone. With wonderful illustrations, in strong colors. Given in a protective case made of leather (rolled). Around 120x10cm. Different conditions, generally good.

Lot 2 handwritten materials, a notebook and a ledger containing hundreds of pages filled with prayers, piutim and songs. Written in Bukhori (with Hebrew alphabet). In a couple of pages of the ledger there is a mention of the authors name Aharon. In page 91A the date of the recording is listed as the fifth of Elul year 5641. The notebook and the ledger are of different sizes and condition. Overall medium-good condition.
