Sefer Yesod: First edition of the Shut Yeshuot Yaakov by Rabbi Yaakov Orenstein, Av Beit Din of Lviv. 4 volumes, Zolkwa 1828-1835. Copies with yichus.

Sefer Shut Yeshuot Yaakov by Rabbi Yaakov Meshulam Orenstein Av Beit Din of Lviv. The four volumes include four sections on the Orech Chaim and one on Yoreh De’ah. Stefanski Yesod 188. In Orech Chaim parts 1, 3-4 there is a stamp of Rabbi Chaim Yosef Greenbaum, Av Beit Din of Blösendorf, a student of the Admor Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet. Orech Chaim 3-4 has the signature of Rabbi Yaakov Zvi Wald, which is probably referring to Rabbi Yaakov Zvi Waldman, Av Beit Din of Topriv and Ungvar, and the signature and stamp of Rabbi Yeshaya Schneebalg, Av Beit Din of Desh and Bnei Ram, son of Rabbi David Zvi Schneebalg (Av Beit Din of Manchester). Yoreh De’ah has a note and stamp testifying that the book belonged to Rabbi Shabtai Sheptil HaLevi Horwitz, Av Beit Din of Kliya, and a dedication signed by “Chaim Yosef Melamed.” Detailed description: Orech Chaim, Part 1: [2], 144 leaves. Moisture stains, worming holes, fair to good condition. Rabbi Chaim Yosef Greenbaum (1873-1920) was a student of the Shevet Sofer and the Kedushat Yom Tov, Rabbi Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum. He was certified by Rabbi Koppel Reich of Budapst. In 1896 he rose to serve under his father as Av Beit Din of Hosaso, and a number of years later he was crowned the Rabbi of Blösendorf.
