Handwritten and signed letters from Gaon HaRav Yitzhak Isaac HaLevi Herzog, which were sent to his son-in-law between 1940-1942. Written on official letterhead of the Chief Rabbi’s office. In the letter, the names of rabbis are mentioned, Polonski, Refael HaKohen Kook. Herzog was the Chief Rabbi of the Land of Israel, and after Israel’s establishment he followed Avraham Yitzhak HaKohen Kook as Chief; during the Shoah he worked to save Jews, he founded the “Yad HaRav Herzog” institute that released the Talmudic encyclopedia, and which was named after him upon his death, he also initiated the new building for the Chief Rabbinate, Heychal Shlomo, he composed many books, among which were “Heychal Yitzhak,” “Ktavim v’Psakim.” Ovadia Yosef, in his eulogy, wrote “He was Israel’s representative, he loved justice and hated wickedness, he always taught defense of Israel, he gave his life to save Israel’s children.” 2 letters, good condition, filing marks, signs of folding.
