Auction 7
Lot 328:
10 handwritten pages, drash for Shabbat HaGadol and the redemption of Israel and their exodus from Egypt. With erasures and corrections and additions between the lines, on the 7th page he adds to the drash from 1901, written entirely in the handwriting of the Ben Ish Hai. As is known, on four shabbatot a year, Shabbat Tshuva, Shabbat Zachor, Shabbat HaGadol, and Shabbat Kalah (the one before Shavuot), most Baghdadi Jews would fill the Great Synagogue of the city (around 10,000 seats), the “Tze’elet El Kabiri,” and would listen to the Ben Ish Hai’s drash. 5 pages, 10 sides of writing, 20 lines per page, excellent condition. Bound in a new book with golden lettering.
