1. Additions and casuistry on Masechet Ketubot, Gitin, and Kiddushin. By the Gaon HaRav Yehoshua Av Beit Din of Lviv. Furth 1766. Endorsements. On the title pae is the signature of HaRav Yakir Istrok Giron, one of the sages of Edirne (Turkey). Born 1740, died 1817, from 1800 he filled his father’s role in the city’s rabbinate. There were those who complained regarding his rule but other sages of his generation, such as Yitzhak Hamon, HaRav eliyahu Polombo and Yosef Meyuchas held by his rulings, including other rabbis of Jerusalem and HaGaon Rav Yom Yov Elgazi. Before his death he moved to Israel. A thick tome. (2) 296, 23 page. (Winograd Furth 347). Reinforced with glue on the cover. Light defects. Stains and lone moth damage. 2. “Shav Shamateta,” additions on the seven issues in Shas, from the Gaon HaRav Aryeh Leib Heller, the “Katzot HaHoshen.” Lemberg 1838. This book was considered a foundational text in yeshiva studies. 64 pages. This is a nice copy in excellent condition. Light restoration on the cover.
