Lot 97:
Typewritten letter on an aerogram from Toshrei 28, 1961, with Chassidic Divrei Torah by the Rebbe based on the Baal Shem Tov and the Admor Hazaken. The Rebbe blesses that the light of this Sabbath have spiritual and material influence: "והדרך להמשיך את כל האמור… מובן מתורת הבעש"ט, אשר אור האמור… גנזו בתורה".
Handwritten addiitons with implied criticism
On the letter, 17 words were added to the text by the Rebbe, with implied criticism of the addressee: "בקיצור הכי [מודגש בכפילות] נמרץ, לאחר הפסק הכי [מודגש] ארוך". At the end, the Rebbe added before his signature: "כשיסתדר הענין שכותבו – בטח יודיע. בברכה לבשו"ט [לבשורות טובות – 2 תיבות אלו בהקלדה] מהצלחה בעבוה"ק [בעבודת הקודש] מתוך שמחה וט"ל [וטוב לבב]".
This letter is general and personal; it was sent to several people on varied dates (the date here is the earliest). Printed in Igrot Kodesh section XXII, Igeret 8128 and in Likutei Sichot section II p. 658. The handwritten additions are published here for the first time.
