Lot 103:
Letter by the Rebbe, typewritten on an official aerogram from the eve of Rosh Hashana 1959.
The letter contains blessings for the birth of a granddaughter and is addressed to the famed Mashpi’a Rabbi Chaim Shalom Segal: "ענף עץ אבות מלאכתו מלאכת שמים".
"In response to his announcement that a daughter was born to hsi daughter… Mazel Tov.. יה"ר מהשי"ת שהוריה שיחיו יגדלוה לתורה לחופה ולמעשים טובים מתוך הרחבה, והוא וזוג’ תי’ ירוו מהם רוב נחת חסידותי. בברכת מזל טוב וכתיבה וחתימה טובה" and the Rebbe’s handwritten signature.

The addressee: Rabbi Chaim Shalom Halevi Segal (1918-1983) the founder and Mashpi’a of the Beit Yehuda Chabadic synagogue of the Nachla’ot neighnorhood in Jewrusalem. A Gaon and author of books and a descandant of Rabbeinu Hazaken. Was a Chassid of the Rebbe the Rayatz and the Rebbe Nassi Doreinu, who appointed him the Baal Habayit of Eretz Yisrael as part of the Chassidic UN.
