Lot 97:
1. Artistic piece of silk with an embroidery of the portrait of the Admor of Alexander, author of Sefer Tiferet Shmuel. Fabric, black and white, 12X17 cm. Placed in a paper envelope, on which it is printed in Hebrew, Polish, French and English: Artistic Silk Tissue – According to the Schwadron Collection: "It can be assumed that this fabric was produced in Poland in the 1920s". Minor unraveling. Stains. Small tears and creases to the envelope.
Extremely rare! This piece of fabric is not included in known online collections and has never been auctioned! Known of this style are only leading Zionist figures and not Gedolei Yisrael.
2. Original postcard with the original picture of the Rebbe’s portrait – Poland, ca. 1920. His known picture was adapted from this one. Stains and minor blemishes – see picture.
3. The Rebbe’s printed portrait on thick paper. Beneath it, the inscription: "צורת מרן הקדוש אדמו"ר מאלעקסאנדער זצ"ל"; above the Rebbe’s figure, a slightly faded stamp with the inscription: "לשנה טובה תכתבו ותחתמו".
Good overall condition.
The Admor of Alexander Rabbi Shmuel Zvi Danziger (1860-1924) the third Admor of Alexander, the son of the Admor Hazaken of Alexander and the brother and successor of the Admor the Yismach Yisrael. Was considered at the time one of the leading Admorim of Poland with tens of thousands of Chassidim. Was succeeded by his son, Rabbi Yitzchak Menachem Mendel, the Akeidat Yitzchak. His Divrei Torah were published in Sefer Tiferet Shmuel on the Torah and the Moadim.
