Dia Gezundheyts Lehre (Higyene) fir Alle [the Doctrine of Health (Hygiene) for All], an interesting work in Yiddish about the health of body and mind with many references to Talmudic Mamrei Chazal and instructions on how to maintain one’s health. Single edition published by Rabbi Shlomo Halevi Heimlich, Shamloy – 1928. 100 pp. except for the front and back cover on pink paper. Stained fabric binding. Stains and minor blemishes. Good overall condition.

An extremely rare book that is not in the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book or the National Library and which has never been auctioned.

The book does not note its author; at its end, the name of Ben Zion Fisch appears. The bibliographer Naftali Ben Menachem, in his book Pitchei Shearim (p. 331) also notes: "The book does not note that it was authored by Rabbi Ben Zion Fisch. This is apparently the author’s personal knowledge (Natan Mark, author of Sifrut Yiddish BeRomania p. 79) which he heard from Mr. Shlomo Zimroni, see Máramarossziget year 6, 1966, issue 26".

It is interesting to note that printed at the top of the title cover of this copy is that the book was "censored" by Rabbi Yitzchak Klein of Satmar. Apparently,   this refers to the fact that the book was read by Rosh Av Beit Din of Satmar to make sure it can be brought into Kosher Jewish homes. Rabbi Yitzchak Klein, Rosh Av Beit Din of Satmar, a disciple of the Shevet Sofer and Rabbi Eliezer Sussman of Paks, edited and published the religious journals Ohel Yitzchak, Meged Yerechim and Hamaggid, which published articles by leading contemporary rabbis and Talmidei Chachamim. Was the author of Zichron Yisrael, Birkat Avraham, Kol Chatan and more.
