Auction 77
Lot 21:
Almost complete set: Talmud Bavli with the commentators as printed previously in Slavuta and Vilna and with new additions – at the end of the volume, a Kuntres containing glosses and corrections by leading rabbis: HaGra, Baal Halevush, the Noda BiYehuda, Rabbi Akiva Eiger and more.
Unique!
For the learners’ convenience, the pagination here differs from the usual one and every page of the regular editions spreads here on two pages, with larger fonts. On the other hand, the format is smaller, making it easier to carry. In addition, the set includes the Rav Alfas and its commentators, some of it in separate volumes. Printed in Lemberg, some of the first edition that was printed during the years 1860-1865 and some of the second edition since 1868.
Approbations!
The volume of Masechet Berachot contains enthusiastic approbations by Gedolei Yisrael (see Hebrew catalog text). Rabbi Shlomo Kluger, in his approbations, writes: ומי שרוצה לעשות כבוד והידור לתורה בל יחוס על כספו וקי"ל הידור מצוה עד שליש במצוה ויקיים מאמר הכתוב זה אלי ואנוהו…".
Except for Masechet Bava Metzi’a – these are all sections of the set, 39 volumes, including the Rif on all the tractates of the Shas (including the missing Bava Metzi’a), some added to the Masechet and some in a separate volume. Mishnayot Zeraim and Taharot in separate volumes. Two title pages for each section. Special title pages for the Rif. Fine original leather bindings. Some missing or blemished spines. Varied blemishes. Some detached leaves. Has not been studied thoroughly for missing leaves – fine copy in good condition.
