Lot 195:
Letter of recommendation with the handwritten signature of the Admor Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter of Ger, from when he served as the Rosh yeshiva of Sefat Emet of Jerusalem – Jerusalem, 1961.
The letter is addressed to Mossad Harav Kook with a request to accept an Avrech, a Talmid Chacham, who was one of his disciples, to work in the institution: "היות נודע לי, כי הנכם מעונינים בת"ח צעיר וכשרוני, לעבודת מחקר במוסדכם הנכבד, הנני מרשה לעצמי להמליץ בפניכם, על הרב יעקב גשייד, מתלמידי ישיבתנו, שהנו (-לפי דעתי-) [original parentheses!!!] מתאים ביותר לעבודה זו".
Maran the Pnei Menachem was known for his devotion to his disciples, who remember him to this day!

The Admor Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter, the Pnei Menachem of Ger (1926-1996). the youngest son of the Admor of Ger, Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter (the Imrei Emet). He served as Rosh Yeshiva of the Sefat Emet yeshiva in Jerusalem for many years. In 1992 after his brother (the Lev Simcha) passed away, he became Admor and led the Ger Chassidut for four years, until his passing.
