Lengthy and impressive letter of recommendation to the famed Chassid Rabbi Elazar Moshe Margolis of Safed – handwritten by a scribe, square letters, with headings written in a half-moon – signed by the leaders of Chassidic Safed – Safed, 1908
Letter of recommendation handwritten by an expert scribe. In the heading of the letter, written in the form of a half-moon and in large letters is the verse "רודף צדקה וחסד ימצא חיים צדקה וכבוד" and beneath it, the verse "זרעו לכם לצדקה וקצרו לפי חסד". Then there are words by the rabbis, calling philanthropists abroad to aid the famed Chassid Rabbi Elazar Moshe Margolis of Safed.
The letter is signed by the leaders of the Chassidic community of Safed:
– The Chassid Gaon Rabbi Raphael Zilberman Av Beit Din of Safed.
– The famed Rav Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Deyzh.
-The Chassid Rabbi Moshe Chorg, the head of the Kollle of the Vizhnitz Chassidim who was a disicpel of the Tzemach Tzaddik.
– Rabbi Elazar Yaakov Podhartzer, Rabbi Raphael Zilberman’s son-in-law and head of the committee of the Bar Yochai Yeshiva of Meron.
– The Famed Chassid Rabbi Baruch Kahana of Vizhnitz, a disicple of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz who immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and established the famed Kloiz of the Sanz Chassidim in Safed.
– Rabbi Nissan Zvi of Bender.
