Auction 77
Lot 134:
Fine complete set, in original leather bindings of Sefer Hazohar, "as printed in Kushtandina [1736-1737] leaf by leaf…". This edition is similar to that of the Shapira Brothers, which was printed in Zhytomyr in 1863, except for the Hagahot by Rabbi Chaim Vital which were omitted (it should be noted that lot 210 of Moreshet Auction 68 introduced a rare variant of Zohar Zhytomyr without the glosses by Rabbi Chaim Vital, just like in this copy – which was printed leaf-by-leaf liked the Shapira edition). At the beginning of section I: DEvar Emet by the printers. which was also copied from the Zhytomyr 1863 edition, with a minor variation and the addition of references to the other verses. The Press of Moshe Leib Harmelin, Brody – 1873. [4], 251, 13, 13-16; [1], 280; 115; [1], 117-309, 11 leaves. Approx. 19 cm. Scuffs and some other blemishes to the bindings. Stains. Very good overall condition.
