Lengthy, comprehensive Responsum of six pages – about using a loudspeaker during prayer events – hand-signed by Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren – addressed to the Rav of the Western Wall, Rabbi Meir Yehuda Getz – Jerusalem, 1982.

Rabbi Goren begins his letter with a description of the traditional Birkat Cohanim beside the Western WAll on Chol Hamo’ed Pesach and during which a loudspeaker was used:

"בעלייתי לרגל להתפלל שחרית ומוסף בחוה"מ פסח שעבר ליד הכותל המערבי, היה זה בעת שנערכה שם ברכת כהנים המונית, כת"ר עבר לפני התיבה והשתמש במקרפון, והשמיע את התפלה וברכת כהנים לצבור בכל הרחבה…"

Rabbi Goren discusses at length the question of whether it is allowed to used a loudspeaker to Lehotzi the public with the blessings and Birkat Cohanim, eventually deducing the it should be avoided: "יש להמנע ליד הכותל המערבי מלהשתמש ברם-קול בתפילות ובברכת כהנים, כדי שלא להכנס למחלוקות של הפוסקים הראשונים והאחרונים, והאמת והשלום אהבו…".
