There are also three approbations from 1868 from Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl and the Maggid of Trisk and Rabbi David of Tolna, in which they bless the people who purchase the book.

The author, Rabbi Yisrael ben Rabbi Shlomo of Sataniv, known as the Charif of Sataniv, (1696-1781). A disciple of the Ba’al Shem Tov, one of the chief opponents to the Frankists, who were then active in Galicia. In a letter by Rabbi Aryeh Leib of Bolachov, he relates that even though the Frankists used to write their letters in code to prevent their words from being understood, the author managed to reveal the code, thereby exposing their misdemeanors. In Rabbi Yoseph Shaul Nathanson’s approbation to this book he notes that the author won a scholarly debate with the Sha’agat Aryeh who was considered the foremost scholar of his time.
