Lot 88:
Psak Beit Din for the division of the estate of the Chassid Gaon Rabbi Shneur Zalman Rivlin, of the Chassidic branch of the Jerusalem Rivlin family and the son of the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Yosef Rivlin who was a beloved disciple of the Admor the Tzemach Tzeddek – Jerusalem, 1891.
Psak Beit Din authorizing the executors’ representatives to sell Rabbi Rivlin’s assets in Safed. The Psak Din/ authorization is signed by the witnesses Rabbi Avraham Prost, the nephew of Rabbi Nachum of Shadil, and Rabbi Aryeh Leib Schwartz.
And the handwritten signature of the Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Leib Herschler (Rabbi Leib Dayan) of the Beit Din of Rabbi Shmuel Salant, the founder of the Beit Yisrael neighborhood, after which the Leib Dayan St. was named.
Beneath these signatures, a confirmation of by the Beit Din signed by the Geonim:
– The Gaon Rabbi Binyamin David Wilner, Dayan of the Prushim Beit Din who signed a Kol Koreh against the new schools…
– The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Shapira of Kovno (1832-1908) served as a Dayan of the Beit Din of Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan in Kovno. In 1891, immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, where he served as Dayan of the Prushim Beit Din and eventually as Av Beit Din of the Beit Din Ashkenazim (Prushim). The in-law of Rabbi Aryeh Levin and Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank, the Rav of Jerusalem.
The Chassid Gaon Rabbi Shneur Zalman Rivlin lived alternately in Safed and Jerusalem. Was one of the leaders of Kollel Chabad. The son of the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Yosef Rivlin the leading disicple of the Admor the Tzemach Tzeddek, who immigrated to Eretz Yisrael at the order of his Rav. He used to travel from Jerusalem to Lubavitch! and the Tzemach Tzeddek used to welcome him with two burning candles in his hands!!!
