Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Segal Horowitz of Meholowitz (passed away in 1873) was a descendant of the Shelah Hakadosh the son of Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Horowitz of Liska (by his second marriage, the father-in-law of Rabbi Menachem Esh Av Beit Din of Ungvar – the son of the Maharam Esh).
The author. Rabbi Moshe of Sambor (1765-1840) was the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Saprin, brother-in-law of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zidichov, and father of Rabbi Yehuda Zvi of Razdil. Succeeded his brother Rabbi Moshe as Admor of Zidichov, and at that time also authored this book Tefilah LeMoshe.
