Small silver plate, apparently for placing under a Kiddush cup. Cast with gentle engravings on its front (which have faded and blurred over the years). Weight: 82 gr. Original hallmarks indicating it was made in Germany in the 19th century. Good condition – see pictures.

Used by a Tzaddik

This plate was passed down over the generations of the Margolls family – descendants of Rabbi Todros of Sniatyn. By tradition, this plate was his.  

Rabbi Todros of Sniatyn was a leading disciple of Rabbi Zeev Wolf of Tshorni-Ostrohe who was a disciple of the Baal Shem Tov and the Rav of the author of the Ahavat Shalom of Kosov. With his Rav, Rabbi Todros immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1799 and settled in Tiberius. He stood by his Rav in the establishment and management of Kollel Vohlin alongside Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Shpitkva and his signature appears on important letters.
