"והנני דו"ש דודך הק’ שאול בראך מנייטרא" Letter of condolence – with a special blessing for Yishuv Tov and Shalom – handwritten by the Kashoi Rov, the famed Gaon Rabbi Shaul Brach – addressed to his cousin Rabbi David after the passing of his mother, Rabbeinu’s aunt – Magendorf, 1917.

In his letter, Rabbeinu recalls the last letter he had recieved from his aunt: "וצר לי מאד על דודותי אמך הצדקת ביום ה’ סיוון… זמן קצר… זה קבלתי מכתב ממנה והיא מכתבה האחרון…". Then Rabbeinu encourages him to make efforts for the soul of his pious mother: "עליך חוב קדוש כי אתה בנה יחידה להרבות מעשים טובים לעשות נחת רוח לנשמתה בעולם העליון"

Rabbeinu ends his letter with an original blessing: "למען תזכה לשוב לביתך שלם בנשמה וגוף ולא תצטרך עוד לנוד מביתך… והנני דו"ש דודך הק’ שאול בראך מנייטרא".

The famed Gaon Rabbi Shaul Brach (1865-1940) was a Hungarian Posek and Av Beit Din of Magendorf, Kruly, and Kashoi. He was known as a leading figure in the fight against secularization and Zionism, saying: “Anyone who believes in Torat Moshe must distance himself from the tents of the Zionists and Mizrachim and avoid eating and drinking with them, as with non-Jews, and they ought to be separated from Kahal Yisrael.” He was close to Admorim of Siget and Bobov. He authored many works including Givat Shaul, Shaul Bechir Hashem, and more.
