Lot 53:
Fascinating letter – handwritten and signed by the Posek the author of the Igrot Moshe – addressed to his disciple Rabbi Menachem Nadal Reichman – with references to his halachic books – New York, 1959.
Rabbeinu sent the letter to his disciple for his engagement, with Mazel Tov blessings: "מזל טוב וברכה והצלחה מרובה בבנין בית נאמן ונכון בישראל ולתפארת בישראל ולעלות מעלה מעלה בתורה ובגדולה…".
Later in the letter, Rabbeinu recalls his plans regarding the printing of his important series of books, the Igrot Moshe and Dibrot Moshe: "ספרי תשובות על או"ח… יוגמר הדפסתו וכריכתו בקרוב ה’ יעזרני להדפיס השאר חלקים ואח"כ אתחיל עוד הפעם לדפוס על המסכתות…." (Responsa books on Orach Chaim… its printing and binding shall soon end and may G-d help me print the other sections and then I shall begin the reprinting of the books on the tractates…". It should be noted that Rabbeinu states several times that he put a lot of efforts into his series of books the Dibrot Moshe, even more than in Shut Igrot Moshe. The Igrot, however, was the series that became a basic contemporary Psikah book.

Maran the Posek the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Feinstein (1995-1986) the foremost Posk after the Holocaust. Was the chairman of Mo’etzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel in the USA, Rosh Metivta of Tiferet Yerushalayim and president of the Union of Rabbis of the USA and Canada.
Authored the basic series of books Shut Igrot Moshe as well as Dibrot Moshe on the Shas. His coffin was brought to Israel and buried on Purim.
Famed is his response to the claim that he has no "Da’at Torah". Rabbeinu, in Igrot Moshe, wrote that he never read a newspaper or book or anything else other than the Torah so how could he have an opinion that was not Torah?!
