A brand plucked from fire!

In the introduction to the second section, Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot writes, among others: "כמה הרפתקי דעדו בהדפסת ספר זה, כי מעלה עשן עמד נגדינו ויותר מחציו נשרף במו אש" referring to the fire that broke out in the printery established in Dubna by the Rav of the town Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Margaliot and which destroyed more than half of the copies of this edition of the book. Rabbi Chaim Mordechai passed away before the printing of the book was completed as a result of the debts and anguish caused by that fire.
