First time in auctions! – Letter with interesting content – handwritten and signed by the Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yitzchak Zvi Deutsch Av Beit Din of Sendra – addressed to the Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yisrael Noah Brisk – with reference to the trip of Rabbeinu the VaYoel Moshe to Israel in 1956 – Vienna, 1956.

At the beginning of the letter, Rabbeinu blesses his friend for merited being rescued from the Nazis "ראשית אברך שהחיינו וקיימנו שיהבך לן ולא יהבך לעפרא ואשר זכה ב"ה להשאר בחיים לראות דור ישרים יבורך…".

Then, the Av Beit Din of Sendra expresses his sorrow for not meeting with Rabbi Brisk in Haifa during his visit there with his Rav the Admor Rabbi Yosel Teitelbaum of Satmar on Rabbeniu’s famed trip to Israel in 1955: "הן צר לי מאד שאשתקד היה דר עוד בחיפה ואני הייתי שמה עם כ"ק אדמו"ר שליט"א ולא ראיתיו…".

Actually, Rabbi Deutsch was a "Mechuten" on this trip of Maran the VaYoel Mosje. Rabbi Deutach served then as Rav of Vienna and when he heard Maran Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum was planning to travel to Israel via London, he went to meet his Rav there, pleading with him to specnd a few days in Vienna too. Rabbi Deursch promised Rabbeinu that the residents of Vienna would donate the sum of $5000, which in those days, was a large amount of money. Rabbeinu acquiesced to his pleas and on the way back from Israel, stayed a few days in Vienna. The residents were true to their word and donated twice the sum theu had promised to the Yitav Lev institutions…

To the best of our knowledge, his script and signature never appeard in auctions.
