לכבוד אבוה"ק – touching letter with a request for assistance – handwritten and signed by the Admor Rabbi Meshulam Zussia Twersky of Chernobyl – addressed to Rabbi Moshe Kmasher, the chairman of the committee for the aid of refugee rabbis – Jerusalem, 1950. 

והיה ראשיתך מצער – the letter was written approx. four days after the birth of the Admor of Chernobyl Ashdod Shlita, on Adar 21, 1950 (Yoma DeHillula Rabba of Rabbi Elimelech) – in his letter, Rabbeinu requests assistance for the upcoming Passover, having six children and experiencing financial difficulties: "ואני נמצא במצב של דחקות גדול מאד עם ששה ילדים קטנים… ממש באו מים עד נפש ובפרט עכשיו שימי חה"פ ממשמשים ובאים…

Rabbeinu ends his letter with a warm blessing: זכות המצוה הרבה תגן על מע"כ להתברך ממקור הברכות בכל מילי דמיטב ובחג כשר ושמח….".

The Admor Rabbi Meshulam Zussia Twersky (1910-1988) the son of Rabbi Caim Yitzchak. His maternal great-grandfather was the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He was the Admor of Chernobyl, and after the Holocaust, operated from Jerusalem. In 1959 he moved to Bnei Brak, where he established his Chatzer on Ra’avad Street. His sons are his successors around the world, and his eldest son the Admor Rabbi Menachem Nachum Twersky continues to run his chatzer from Bnei Brak. His sons and sons-in-law are famed Admorim in Israel and the USA.
