"ת"ל שבאתה שלום ברוב יסורים וסכנת נפשות" – letter handwritten and signed by the Admor Rabbi Ben Zion Yehuda Leib Twersky of Hornosteipel with details about the arrival of the Rebbetzin to the USA and his grandson’s Bar Mitzvah – Chicago, 1942.

"כמעט שאין בית שלא לקחו מהם לצבא" (There is almost no home from which no one was taken into the army). In the letter, Rabbeinu recalls the Rebbetzin’s arrival in the USA: "כבר כתבתי לכם מביאת רעיתי תח’ לפה עש"ק שבת הגדול… ואיך שהיא, ת"ל שבאתה שלום ברוב יסורים וסכנת נפשות…". As is known, Rabbeinu, escaped Antwerp a the beginning of the war and reached the USA, settling in Chicago. His wife the Rebbetzin, apparently, followed later.

In his letter, Rabbeinu also describes the difficult situation in the USA, which was greatly affected by the war: "אמת היא כי מצב הכללי פה נגרע ממצב המלחמה כמעט שאין בית שלא לקחו מהם לצבא, ומחכים לישועה ליפטור מהשמים בקרוב…".
