Lot 136:
Collection of five historical documents, important and with interesting content, pertaining to the Kloiz of the Chernobyl Chassidim of Safed founded by Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl.
1. Special confirmation – recalling a wonderous story about the Sefer Torah of the Chernobyl Kloiz of Safed which found its way to the USA and was discovered in New York by the Admor Rabbi Yitzchak of Skvira Boro Park שנתנה לנו כח הרשאה… מאנשי חסידי טשערנביל להחזירה להיכל הקדשה…. קבלנו אותה מיד אדמו"ר המפורסם וכו’ כקש"ת מוה"ר יצחק טווערסקי שליט"א מסקווערי שזכה וזיכה לקיים מצוות השבת אבידה… יען שנתגלגל הדבר מן השמים שבאה הספר תורה לבית מדרשו…" – New York, 1925 – not signed.
2. Psak Beit Din forbidding a woman living near the synagogue to hang her washing over the yard of the Kloiz!!! signed by the Dayanim of Safed:
– The Gaon Chassid Rabbi Avraham Leib Zilberman Rosh Av Beit Din of Safed.
-Rabbi Nachum Etrog Dayan and eventually Rosh Av beit Din of Safed.
– Rabbi Ephraim Weingut Dayan and eventually the Rav of Safed.
3. Document handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yaakov Shalom ben Avraham, indicating that he received a Sefer Torah from the synagogue of the Chernobyl Chassidim and promises to return it by Rosh Chodesh Nisssam – Safed, 1904.
4. Psak Din – handwritten and signed by the Gaon Chassid Rabbi Raphael Zilberman Rosh Av Beit Din of Safed – about a negotiation between the Gabaim of the Kloiz and the neighbors of the Beit Midrash – signed by the Dayan Rabbi Yitzchak ben Rabbi Yisrael – Safed, 1895.
5. Deposition – about the Kloiz by the Tzaddik Rav of Chernobyl... and the neighbors of the Kloiz on the west. The document mentions many names of Chassidic residents of Safed. The witnesses’ signatures are missing.
