Lot 126:
Special personal letter written by Maran the Imrei Chaim of Vizhnitz when he lived in Brooklyn, to his disciple in Israel – with blessings and instructions on setting the wedding date – Brooklyn, 1950.
In his letter, Rabbeinu thanks his disciple for his blessings for the Rebbe’s birthday (Kislev 15) and blesses him twice as much: "וגם את ברכותיך על יום מולדתי ואברך אני גם אותך שתחי’ לאורך ימים טובים בנחת והרחבה בקדושה ובטהרה אכי"ר". Then, the Imrei Chaim answers his question about setting a wedding date, noting when he intends to return to Israel, yet emphasizing that the wedding could be set earlier "ואם המחותן אינו רוצה להמתין עד אז, אזי תוכל לעשות החתונה בקודם ותהי’ בשטו"מ…".
At the end of the letter, Rabbeinu added two lines handwritten by him:
"ידידוש"ט חפץ רב שלומך וטובתך בלב ונפש חפצה מצפה לרחמי שמים בכל עת ורגע, הק’ חיים מאיר בהה"צ מוהר"י זצללה"ה".
Famed is the love the disciples of Maran the Imrei Chaim felt for him, which was reflected by him, especially Holocaust survivors and the first generation in Israel, whom Rabbeinu used to attend their weddings as one of their closest relatives.
