Torah Nevi’im and Ketuvim in a single volume, with a table of the Haftarot. A special and elegant edition, published by Gedolei Hador Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Halevi Bamberger of Würzburg , Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer of Berlin and Rabbi Meir Lehman of Mainz – Leipzig, 1870.
These rabbis published the written Sifrei Torah several times. This is the first edition published by them, a full volume of Torah, Nevi’im and Ketuvim.
This book, which was published by three leading Asgkenazic rabbis in the years of the war against reform Judaism, is of special importance, it being an edition of the Bible that was printed for Jews and apparently for the first time, by Jews.
[2], 613 leaves. An additional page with the printer’s name that does not appear in the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book.
Old binding – apparently original. Minor blemishes to the edges of the sheets. Stains, tears and taping. Some damage to text. Varied pencil notations on the margins – have not been studied. Good overall condition.
