By the order of the Tzaddik!
According to the title page, the work had been published once before in Venice in 1590 by Rabbi Yitzhak Abuhav, and remained out of sight until this edition, printed at the order of the first Admor of Alexander, Rabbi Yehiel, with the commentary Beit Levi by Rabbi Aharon ben Yehiel HaLevi. The commentary appears around the chapters of Psalms, together with Rashi’s commentary. Warsaw 1898. 185, [1] leaves.

Blessing in one’s home!
This rare book was in the possession of Admor HaZaken of Alexander, Rabbi Yehiel Danziger, who ordered that it be printed because of its importance, and he writes in his endorsement: “Our friend…tried to fulfill my desire to bring this dear book to printing, the book Meir Tehilot on Psalms…and it is a great mitzvah to support it…to bring a blessing into their homes with this dear book.” Many important endorsements from Polish sages: Admorei Alexander, the Avnei Nezer of Sochotchov, a collaborative endorsement by “descendants of the geonim of Gur” (the Imrei Emet and his brother-in-law, Rabbi Moshe Betzalel); Rabbi Pinchas Menachem and Rabbi Bendin and more; Rabbi Eliyahu Haim Maizel of Lodz; the Admor of Ostrovtza; Rabbi Avraham Eiger of Lublin; and others.

Stains, most of them minor. A tear to the edge of the title page and an oper tear to its upper edges. Moth perforations. Original leather spine, scuffed with a blemish. Fair-good overall condition.
