Shut Rabbeinu Yosef Kolon (ben Shlomo) known as Shut Maharik, a basic Psikah book. 

The Press of Yitzchak ben Eliezer Madpis – Sudilkov, 1834. [7], 98 leaves. At its beginning, a poem by the author and at its end, praise for the book and its author. Title page with red lettering. New binding. Wide margins. Moth perforations. Some moth damage. Stains. Some tears. Good overall condition. 

On the title page, a handwritten ownership notation by Rabbi Moshe Yosef Hoffman: "זה הספר מהרי"ק קניתי לשם צורי וקוני וזה חלקי מכל עמלי הק’ משה יוסף במהר"מ ז"ל האפמאן מתושבי ירושלים עה"ק". In addition, his faded stamps. Inside the book, pen and pencil glosses. 

The Gaon Rabbi Moshe Yosef Hoffman, author of the Beer Mayim Chaim (1843-1928) was the son of Rabbi Michael, the author of Shut Maharam Mintz. He was a disciple of the Ketav Sofer and Rabbi Natan Binyamin Lieber of Pressburg. He received his Semicha by the Gaon Mahari Asad. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Weiss of Serdohel and served as Rav of Papa in 1882, after which he was knonw as the Papa Dayan. In 1906 he immigrated to Jerusalem, where he continued to serve as Rav. He passed away without children. He published his father’s work, the Shut Maharam Mintz.
