"אנא לברוח"!!! – Touching, historical letter – by Rabbi Nachum Runin, Shochet of Horodnia, Ukraine – the son of the Chabadic Gaon Rabbi Moshe Runin Av Beit Din of Sena – addressed to Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook – Horodnia, 1934.

The letter contains the plea of a Jew, a Talmid Chacham, who remained in Ukraine, which was wallowing in the flood of Bolsheviks. Rabbi Runin describes the effect of the street on his children, his difficult financial situation due to the lack of demand for a Shochet and Mohel, and the persecutions (implying to the Yevsektsiya?): "סבלתי הרבה רעב ודחקות, ורדיפות ואין בי כח לעמוד בזאת, ונצרך אני לחשוב מה לעשות, אנא לברוח…" Then Rabbi Runin asks the Rav Kook to send him a certificate to immigrate to Eretz Yisrael: "וכאשר אני עוד בנעורי אהבתי את ארץ הקדושה.. ע"כ אבקש מכ"ת הרמה… ולשלוח לי וויזא ושיפקארט לנסע לא"י הק’…. כי יודע אני וגם שמעתי שכ"ת הרמה עושים בזה הרבה….".
