The author, the Chassid Rabbi Dober Karasik (the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Isac), was a Gaon and a leading disciple of the Tzemach Tzeddek of Lubavitch. Author of Meir Einei Sofrim Hilchot Olam and others. Was the Rosh Yeshiva of Volkovisk and later, Av Beit Din of Holsk and Rav of Krolovich, where he was laid to rest.
