Sefer Bnei Chayei, halachic novellae on Seder Arba’ah Turim, by Rabbi Chaim ben Rabbi Menachem Algazi. First Edition, Ortaköy near Kushta, 1712. [2], 191, 16, 19 leaves. In the Rare Book Collection of the National Library.
Its last section contains, compilations on several tractates of the Shas and at its end, novellae on "Leshonot HaRambam".
Elegant, ancient leather binding, gilt embossed, apparently from the period, scuffed and stained. Unravelling to the seam and spine – reinforced with tape. Fine margins. Bright healthy paper. Taping to some leaves. Stains. Some tears. Good overall condition.
On the title page, an ancient Ashkenazic notation: "ה"ק יעקב (במוה"ר) אלכסנדרי זצל מערצבאך מפירדא". On leaf 10 alomgside the pagination at the top of the page, again: "יעקב מערצבאך מפירדא".
