Vinyl record of the Singing Rabbi, Rabbi Shlomo Carlibach Uvneh Yerushalayim – 6 MILLION IN HEAVEN – 3 MILLION IN HELL, published in 1972. Dedicated by Reb Shlomo to Yaakov Birenbaum: "לידיד משפיע, מתווה ורוקם, יעקב בירנבאום, ברכה אושר וחיים, שלמה". The record with its original cover is wrapped with nylon. Not been tested to see if works. Good overall condition.
Yaakov Birenbaum (1927-2014) a social leader and philosopher, one of the leaders of the struggle for Soviet Jews in the 1960s. Established the organization of Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry. Birenbaum was a German-born American Jew, the grandson of Rabbi Natan Birenbaum. Rabbi Shlomo Carlibach was was of the prominent supporters of Birenbaum’s organization. In 1965, at Birenbaum’s request, Reb Shlomo composed his famed song Of Avinu Chai to supprt the struggle.
