Letter on Pidyon Shvuyim, about rescuing an Avrech from arrest, signed by Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Halperin Rav in New York and Chairman of HaEdah HaChareidit of Jerusalem – Jerusalem, 1938.

Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Halperin (1871-1961) a Chassidic Rav in the USA and founder of the National Center for Taharat Hamishpacha. Was born in Galicia and in 1906 moved the USA, serving as a Rav in Denver, by the order of his Rav the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Chortekov. In 1938, immigrated to Eretz Yisrael. his major lifetime achievement was the establishment, in 1942, of the National Center for Taharat Hamishpacha, with the blessing of leading rabbis. The organization operates to this day, building Mikva’ot in Israel and distributing the importance of Taharat Hamishpacha. Maran the Chazon Ish warmly supported the enterprise, writing about Rabbi Halperin [see: Pe’er Hador, volume II, p. 154]: "ידיו אמונות לבניין מקוואות בארצנו הקדושה"
