Letter written during World War I by Rabbi Raphael Tzimetbaum of Gorlitz to Rabbi Chaim Brody Av Beit Din of Prague, about the sale of Matzah in Prague  – Bohemia, 1915.

During the war, like many other Jews of Galicia, Rabbi Raphael escaped to the vicinity of Prague. Before Passover, the Jewish community of Prague arranged a sale of Matzah for the thousands of refugees at a reduced price. However, there were not enough Matzahs for everyone or maybe the sale was not properly organized and Rabbeinu remained without Matzah for the holiday. He writes his complaint on three full pages: "ועתה זה עבר ימים הראשונים מימי הפסח ולא השגתי מאומה לא המצות ולא שום מכתב לידע מה ראו על ככה… מה חטאם ומה פשעם כי צריך להלקות אותם ב"ב מקלות ודי להם מקל אחד ולא שתים – ולבי אומר לי… לא יצא מפי הרב שליט"א מעולם ורק מבטן האיש רומאלט הנ"ל"
