Interesting letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yeshaya Bennett, the son of the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Bennett – addressed to his relative the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Brody Av Beit Din of Prague – about the purchase of his books – with reference to the Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Zilberstein Av Beit Din of Wietzen – Wietzen, 1904.
The letter is addressed to his relative the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Brody Av Beit Din of Prague, who was also a grandson of Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried. In his letter, Rabbi Yeshaya writes that he saw in his father’s house the books that Rabbi Brody had sent to Rabbi Yechezkel "אשר כבר חנן בם לאאמ"ו שליט"א", studied and enjoyed them.
Now that he has gone to study at the yeshiva of the Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Zilberstein, he asks to that his works be sent to Wietzen: "זה זמן לא כביר שאני מסתופף תחת צל אדמ"ו הגאון מהר"י ז"ש אבד"ק… וימחול לכתוב לי המחיר ותקוותי תענה שימלא שאלתי ובקשתי…".
