First ediiton in the author’s lifetime – Piotrkow, 1894. 10, 5-174 leaves. The book received many approbations from leading contemporary rabbis including the Admorim: the author of Avnei Nezer of Sochatchov, Rabbi Yechiel of Alexander, Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor of Kovno, Rabbi Yosef Dover Halevi of Brisk, the Aderet, the Sdei Chemed and many more.
Apparently original binding with an embossed leather spine – with minor blemishes. Moth perforations. Dry paper. Good overall condition.
At the top of the title page, a dedication handwritten by the author, addressed to the Gaon Rav Rabbi Moshe Perlmuter, Moreh Tzeddek of Lodz and author of Sefer Chemdat Moshe: "הרב הגאון… כש"ת מו"ה משה פערלמוטער נ"י מו"ץ בלאדז’ מח"ס חמדת משה כו’ מאת ידידו דו"ש המחבר". With the author’s stamp. In addiiton, at the top of the title page, a notation by the author: "מוגה מאת המחבר" (proofread by the author). Throughout the book, corrections and additions handwritten by him.
The author, the writer of the dedication: Rabbi Shkomo Avraham Razechte, The Gaon of Ozarkov (1843-1928) the son of Rabbi Daniel Zeev. One of the Geonim of Poland. Was a leading contemporary Meshiv who corresponded with leading contemporary rabbis, in Eretz Yisrael, Europe and Ashkenaz.
The receiver of the dedication: Rabbi Moshe Perlmuter (ca. 1840-1920 [on his tombstone it is written that he was 82 years old when he passed away in 1920]), son of Rabbi Eliezer, Dayan and Moreh Tzeddek in Lodz. Author of Chemdat Moshe, Chemdat Hanefesh, Tarshish Shoham, Even Shoham, Sherit Moshe and more. One of the leading disciples of the Rav of Kutna.
