Sefer Chidushei Maharal on Hilchot Ribit of Tur Yoreh Deah, by Rabi Aryeh Leib Tzintz and with Sefer Hamada, which is an inclusive work for Sefer Kreiti by the Gaon Rabban shel Yisrael Rabbi Yonason Eibschitz … and Sefer Pleiti by Rabbi Shimon Kromnoi Dayan and Moreh Tzeddek of Pest … on Hilchot Ribit [Sefer Hamada was printed first in Prague, 1811]. First edition of the work of the Maharal Tzintz – Warsaw, 1884. [3], 125 leaves. 31 cm. Apparently original binding, with a leather spine, slightly blemished. Some moth perforations and stains. Good overall condition. 

On the title page, a lengthy handwritten dedication: "הספר היקר הזה בכי יותן… כש"ת מו"ה מאיר אונגאר מבעלד… מאת חברו הנאמן… הק’ יודא המכונה ליבוש שווארץ מסאללאש [כנראה מסעליש] יע"א, מוצש"ק בשלח תרצ"ב לפ"ק פה דונאסערדאהלי יע"א". On the guard leaf, the signature of Meir Ungar and an additional notation:  "זה הספר שייך לה"ה הרבני נ"י מו"ה יעקב יצחק ווארהאפטיג".

Rabbi Meir Ungar (1910-1997) the son of Rabbi Menachem was born in Beled. Studied at the Szerdahely Yeshiva and with Rabbi Yosef Elimelech Kahana, who gave him a Heiter Hora’ah. In his youth, he followed the Admor the Maharid of Belz. After the Holocaust, he was appointed Av Beit Din of Winsheim, Germany, dealing among others with Hatarat Agunot. In the USA, he followed the Admorim of Skvira. Rabbi Meir was the in-law of Posek Hador Rabbi Shmuel Wosner, the Shevet Halevi (his son Rabbi Yisrael Ungar married the Shevet Halevi’s daughter). (His biography is based on Zera Yaakov by the Kolleleim Center of Shikin Skvira).
