Lot 142:
Jubilee Calendar of the grand Rabbinical College Knesseth Israel of Slabodka, Lithuania for the year 5692 1931-1932, "souvenir for the Gabaim and friends of the Knesset Yisrael Slabodka Yeshiva". A calendar that was published for the Jubilee of the famed yeshiva, 1882-1932. M. Guttman Press, Kovno. The calendar includes the time of sunset on Sabbath and Yom Tov eve for Vilna, New York and Riga. Each month is spread over 2 pages, with verses and varied Mamarei Chazal praising Torah supporters, Tefillat Haderech, a short review of the history of the yeshiva and its founder, the Saba of Slabodka, Rabbi Nathan Zvi Finkel, with his picture and a class picture from 1929. Apparently, the calendar was sent to America and contains a review of the organization of Slabodka students in the USA and the history of the yeshiva in English and Yiddish. In addition, it contains a list of the Yahrzeits of leading rabbis. 12 cm. Title-cover. Stains and minor blemishes. Good overall condition.
A rare, bibliographically unknown calendar. Not in the National Library, which has a similar calendar for a later year.
