The Rebbe said that the Mamarim in Magen Avot are "געשמאקע מאמרים". Magen Avot books, and even facsimile editions, are rare and hard to obtain.

Bound in two volumes with ancient bindings, without spines. Fine wide margins. Detached leaves and sheets. Stains. Some leaves with blemishes affecting the text. Some small tears. Good overall condition.

On one flyleaf, stamps: "בן ציון בהרב ארי" ליב האפט קלינצי" indicating this was the copy of Rabbi Ben Zion Hoft who was a Moreh Tzeddek in Klintzi, the son of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Hoft, who was Rav of Konotop and author of Shut Divrei Taam. Rabbi Ben Zion was close to the Mashgi’ach Rabbi Eliyahu Dessler.
