Lot 93:
Lengthy handwritten notebook – Hilchot Shechita and Treifot and Shechiata customs. Eloquent Sephardic script, matching the area of North Africa, early 20th century. At the beginning and end of the book, signatures of Rabbi Yitzchak Cohen Skalli from 1900. At the end of the volume, the Piyyut "אני היום לאל אשירה, לאלהים חי בעודי אזמרה".
Enclosed with the book is a letter by Rabbi Avishai Teherani in which he expresses his gratitude to Rabbi Moshe Ben Yashar for allowing his to study the book: "ודליתי ממנו כמה ביאורים לגבי דעת הפרי חדש… ונהנאתי". Later he introduces a Dvar Torah and refers to the great Gaon Rabbi Oavdya Yosef. Enclosed is an additional letter by an unidentified writer. Has not been studied.
Approx. [105] leaves, most of them written on both sides. Half of the notebook was written with ink and half with pencil, possibly by two different writers. Good-fair condition. Detached leaves and gatherings. Small tears to some. Blemished and detached binding. Missing spine.
