Buyer's premium:

Chumash Torat Moshe, Sefer Bamidbar , with an Ashkenazi translation (Tzor letters) and the Mincha Chadasha elucidation by Rabbi Meir Klev, based on his manuscript. The German translation is Mendelson’s translation, which was then still common among Chareidi Jews in Germany.

First edition – the press of the Gaon and linguist Rabbi Wolf ben Rabbi Shimshon Heidenheim, the Raveh – Rodelheim, 1820. [1], 134, [1], 16, 56 leaves. An additional title page for the Haftarot and at the end, the Sabbath prayers. From leaf 41, Piyyutim for Brit Milah and special Sabbaths – two different versions were published, a German one and a Polish one. Most copies contain the German version, as does this copy. The prayers and Piyyutim were not printed in all copies.

This Chumash is the first of four types of Chumashim printed by the Raveh in that year: Ein Hasofer, Muda Labinah and Meor Enayim. The biblical text is identical in all Chumashim yet their layout is different since each contains a different commentary.

Apparently original bindings with leather spines. The book is divided into two between the Mikra and the Haftarot and between them, two detached leaves. Minor stains and signes of usage. Good overall condition.

Ancient and important Ashkenazic ownership notations.
