Set of Machzorim, Ashkenaz custom "precise and elucidated and translated into Ashkenazit" by the Raveh. Machzorim that were famed for their quality and precision and were favored by Gedolei Yisrael.
First edition – edited and printed by the Gaon and linguist Rabbi Wolf ben Rabbi Shimshon Heidenheim, the Raveh, and his partner Baruch Bashovitz in Rodelheim. The translation is in Tzor letters.
1. For the seventh and eighth days of Passover. 1800. [1], 14, 116, 12 leaves. Larger edition than the others with wide margins. New paper cover protecting the binding.
2. For Shavu’ot. 1805. [8], 10, 16, 124, 12 leaves. Half-title "ספר קרובות הוא מחזור". Approbations and bans by contemporary Geonim. Words by the grammarian Rabbi Shlomo Dubno, author of the Tikkun Sofrim, with a fine poem by him praising the Machzor and its publisher. In addiiton, a lengthy foreword by the translator and commentator. On the last page: "דברי הכרוז אשר הוכרזו… כב אייר תקס"ה… בק"ק פ"פ [פראנקפורט] דמיין… בשם האב"ד… ר’ פינחס הלוי איש הורוויץ" against Reb lemli Geiger, who wanted to publish the Machzorim with Heidenheim’s additions.
3. For the first and second days of Sukkot. 1800. [2], 12, 63, 10, 12 leaves. Half-title "ספר קרובות הוא מחזור".

Leather bindings/spines. Fine quality paper. Signs of usage. Good overall condition especially for a prayer book that is frequently used.
