Letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Pekrovich of London, addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein, the Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron – London, 1930. 

In his letter, Rabbi Pekrovich apologizes for not starting with the fundraising for the Hebron Yeshiva, the main reason being the two Shadarim from Slabodka, who protested against the campaign for the Hebron Yeshiva: "והסבה הראשית היא שני השדרים מסלאבאדקא היושבים בפה זה כשנתיים, הם שומרים את צעדנו מעת אשר נודע להם… כי בדעתנו להתחיל תעמולה בעד ישיבת כנסת ישראל בירושלים הרימו קול צעקה עד לשמים כי רוצים אנחנו להרוס את בנינם… וכאשר יאמרו .. כי בקרוב יעזבו את לאנדאן, לכן חשבנו כי טוב להמתין מעט…..".


It should be noted that other letters auctioned here indicate that usually, the Jews of the Diaspora saw it is a great merit to support the first Lithuanian yeshiva of the Holy Land.

The great Gaon Rabbi Moshe Pekrovich, a Mashgi’ach and manager of the Knesset Beit Yitzchak Yeshiva of Kemnitz (after the split). Was a great Talmid Chacham and Gaon. It is told that once, when he answered a question about Rabbi Akiva Eiger’s words, Rabbi Chaim Ozer stated that his answer was a very good  one! During World war II, Rabbi perkovich escaped to London.
