Fine set – Pentateuch, Haphtorahs and Prayers for Sabbath with an English translation on facing pages. At the end of each Chumash, Prayers for Sabbath with the Yotzrot with a separate title page.
Five volumes. In each Chumash, an additional English title page. According to three of the title pages, the year of printing is תרכ"ח (1867). The year in Chumash Bereshit is תרי"ח (1818). It is interesting to note that bibliographic listings do not address this fact and according to them, the year of printing is תרכ"ח (1867). Chumash Vayikra is of another edition. The Hebrew date on the title page is תרל"ד (1874); however, according to the English title pages, the year is like the other title pages. Yet, a table of the Parashiyot is for the years 1889-1908 indicating it is a later edition which is a stereotype edition of an ealier one. In Chumash Shemot, the table of Parashiyot is for the years 1915-1934 and it too is a later stereotype edition.
Fine stable bindings. Minor blemishes. Good overall condition. Was not studied for missing leaves; yet it seems a complete copy.
