On the title page of the book, a notation handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer and stamps of the library of the Seminar for Rabbis of Berlin, which he headed.
The Gaon Rabbi Dr. Azriel Hildesheimer (1820-1899) a German Rav and leader of Orthodox Jewery in Germany. He was the Rav and Rosh Yeshiva of Eisenstadt and then Berlin, founder of the Rabbinical Beis Midrash in Berlin, a leading disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Ettlinger (the Aruch LaNer). He received the title “Nasi Eretz Yisrael” for his work on behalf of Russian Jewry and the many yeshivas he established.
