Lot 219:
Masechet Kiddushin of the Bavli Talmud, "with all the commentators as printed previously in Slavuta and Vilna" and with new additions – at the end of the volume, a Kuntres containing glosses and corrections by HaGra, the Levush, the Noda BiYehuda, and more leading rabbis – Lemberg, 1863.
תורה מפוארת בכלי מפואר!
This edition is most impressive. Apparently, the printer wanted to glorify the Torah and did everything he could to do so – the first title page is with soft, gilt lettering in a matching border. The (original) binding is gilt-embossed and framed with decorations of fish and crowns. The edges are reddish with gilt stars. The flyleaves are on color paper.
Partly detached binding. Minor stains. Fine copy in good condition.
