Lot 17:
Masechet Berachot of the Bavli Talmud, for the first time with the Mareh Yechezkel Glosses by the great Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Segal Landau, the Noda BiYehuda. At the beginning of the book, corrections and references by the great Gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger, which were eventually printed on the margins of the sheets themselves and are known as "Gilayon HaShas". Additional additions such as references and corrections by the Gaon Rabbi Bezalel Ransburg and translations introduced by Rashi and the Rishonim titled Marpeh Lashon by the editor Rabbi Moseh Segal Landau, the Noda BiYehuda’s grandson.
Printed in Prague, 1830. At its end, Mishnayot Seder Zera’im with a separate title page and the date 1831. [6], 102, 74, [2] leaves. The two last leaves contain a list of important and famed subscribers from Germany.
Large volume: 45X28 cm. Title page with red lettering. Fine, wide margins. Taping to the title page and some other leaves. Stains. Good overall condition.
On the flyleaf, an interesting self-dedication by Dov Holtzer who received the book from his father Note Aryeh Holtzer in 1931: "זה הגמרא שייך לי לה"ו דוב האלצער קבלתי מאת אבי מורי ה"ה מו"ה נטע אר’י האלצער חזן ראשון בעיר הבירה בפ’ יצ"ו בקהל יראים בשנת תרצ"א לפ"ק".
