Sefer Bat Ami, “on agunot and Agunei Hhashmad, clarifications, research, and Chiddushei Halachot on the laws of Agunot left after the Holocaust in the lands occupied by the Nazis during the last World War”, by Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Toledano (see below). First edition – Tel Aviv, 1942. 72 pages (there are copies with [4] additional pages at the end on a Yibum of a communist). Soft printed cover. Moth perforations. Stains. Good overall condition.

Handwritten dedication and signature by the author: "לידידי הרה"ג המפורסם כש"ת כמוהר"ר יעקב חי זריהן שליט"א הרה"ר בטבריה ת"ו…". Rabbi Zrihan’s stamps in several places in the book. 

Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Toledano (1880-1961) was an Israeli Rav, posek, and public figure, who served as Rav of Tel Aviv-Yafo and Minister of Religious Affairs in the 8-9th Israeli governments. Even before that he was Av Beit Din and deputy Chief Rabbi of Cairo, Av Beit Din and Chief Rabbi of Alexandria, and member of the Appeals Beit Din in Egpyt, where he served until returning to Eretz Yisrael because he was selected as City Rabbi of Tel Aviv in 1942.

Rabbi Yaakov Chai Zrihan (1869-1953) Rosh Av Beit Din of Tiberius, author of Bikurei Yaakov, Ohel Yaakov, Chelek Yaakov and more. Opposed Zionism and was famed for his zealous outlook, refusing to accept an official position by the National Council despite the pleas of the Rishon LeZion Rabbi Ben Zion Meir Chai Uziel. Was one of the first to sign the broadside published by the Rabbis of Eretz Yisrael forbidding girls to enlist into the army.
