Volume of Mishnayot Seder Nashim "with commentaries by the famed Geonim… and we have added the Atzei Eden commentary by the Admor Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Isaac [Safrin] of Komarno. First Edition in the author’s lifetime, printed by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Sperling and Rabbi Berish Luria – Lemberg, 1862. 

The first edition of these Mishnayot was published twice with minor variations. It was printed for the first time in 1861 and the title pages of this edition depict the printer’s mark, which are missing from the title pages of the second publishing in 1862, which was composed of copies that were printed in 1861. 

[1], 129, [1] leaves. Moth damage and perforations. Stains and varied aging blemishes. The last leaf is detached. Good overall condition. No binding. 


The Admor Rabbi Yitzhak Isaac Yehuda Yechiel (Safrin) of Komarno [1806-1874]  the son of Rabbi Alexander. He was the famed second  Admor of Komarno. After he lost his parents at the age of 12, he grew up with his uncle, his father’s brother, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Ziditchov (known as the Sar Beit HaZohar). He studied under Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apta, and under his uncle. He also travelled to the Chozeh of Lublin (who was even his Shadchan), Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, and more. He became famed as a wonder-worker and had many followers. His works are a known Segula for protection.
